Mentors: Lana Harbers: my yoga, reiki guru from when I lived in Jakarta, Indonesia (she kept me sane in that insane city!)
Terri and Alex Cole: The owners of YoYoYogi up and quit their "real" jobs and became yoga entrepreneurs in their 50s....inspirational!
Teaching Style: I like to guide a strong, creative Vinyasa class to get your energy flowing but am just as excited about a slow, restorative class for when you just need to relax and forget about the hustle and bustle of the day.
Most Favorite pose: Gosh, there are so many! I do find myself standing in Vrksasana (Tree) often when chatting with people. My current fave is Insect Pose. I do love all twisting poses as well!
Least Favorite pose: Garudasana (Eagle Pose) and Utkatasana (Chair Pose).....UGH!
Music Style for Class: Ambient trip hop into yoga meditative music. Lots of Thievery Corporation, Nightmares on Wax, Massive Attack. I do enjoy some Wah! for Savasana
Interests outside of yoga: I love being outdoors (hiking, running, walking, enjoying nature in general), being with my dog, eating good food, traveling as often as possible, cooking healthy recipes, essential oils, going on as many adventures with my 1-year-old daughter and husband as I can!
Fave fruit: I could eat Rainier cherries all day long!
Fave place in San Diego: Self -Realization Meditation Gardens in Encinitas, Batiquitos Lagoon trail in La Costa
My hood: North Park
Words to live by: Expect nothing. Live forever in surprise.
