Between the kegels and the nipple cream (have we scared you away already!?) and the epidurals and the dolphin-assisted labor and the formula and the goat milk formula and the breast pumps and the gas masks and the Hypnosis and the orbits and the bjorns, it can be really, really intimidating to figure out what kind of pregnancy you want, what kind of birth you want, what kind of parent you want to be, etc..... Allow us to assure you we don’t give a f%#* what you choose as long as you feel supported, informed and confident. At Honey Yoga we’re firm believers that we all–whether we’re growing little blobs of life inside of us or not–have the answers we need already. It’s usually just a matter of dropping in and listening.

Honey Yoga’s Prenatal Yoga Series is designed to help you do just that: drop in and listen to your own inner wisdom so that you are as prepared as possible for childbirth and beyond!

Over our 6 weeks together, we’ll explore move, stretch, strengthen and heal in ways designed to help 1. relieve pregnancy pain and stress; 2. prepare you for childbirth; and 3. support you on your journey to motherhood.

Prenatal Yoga FAQ

When should I start doing prenatal yoga? How long can I do it?

It is never too early to start practicing prenatal yoga. In fact, you can practice prenatal yoga even when you're not pregnant!

Prenatal yoga is, among other things, a fantastic prep for the hard work of pregnancy, labor, birth and the biggie, parenthood. Get here early (in pregnancy), and stay late (allllllllll the way to the end. Seriously.).

Is yoga safe for pregnancy?

There are many, many, many studies that suggest yoga is not only safe, but beneficial for pregnant people. If you have concerns, please check with your provider.

Is there anyone who shouldn't practice yoga when they're pregnant?

It is not safe to practice yoga is you have a condition called placenta previa. This can only be diagnosed by a medical professional. Please check with your healthcare provider if you have any concerns.

I just wanna barf all the time.

Come to yoga. It usually makes you feel better. For a while, anyway.

I’m a proud Honey Yoga member! What happens to my membership when I have the baby?

Let us know (especially if you named the baby after us) and we will suspend your membership for up to six weeks. Come back when you're ready, but we really don't want to see you on the mat until you stop bleeding your own blood. (This is different for everyone. Best to check with your healthcare provider if you have any concerns.)

Can I only take prenatal classes?

No!! Many of our teachers have specialized and extended prenatal training and you are welcome in any Honey Yoga class.
